I Found a Cure for Excessive Sweating

Hello Fellow Excessive Sweater:

As a person who can certainly relate to anyone looking for a cure for excessive sweating…anyone who suffers from the embarrassment and inconvenience of excessive sweating (medically known as hyperhidrosis), I welcome you with dry arms to this site.

My name is Randy Foley.  My excessive sweating had finally reached a point where I HAD to find a cure for excessive sweating!  And I did…finally!  I discovered a natural treatment that taught me how to stop sweating.

Living in Georgia, I know that heat and humidity is just a given for the better part of the year. Excessive Underarm Sweating For me, just a walk from my house to my car was enough of a trigger.  As soon as I could start the car, I would crank up the air conditioning to keep my excessive head sweating at bay.

But later, a longer midday walk from a parking lot to a client’s office in downtown Atlanta…only just a couple of blocks away…the brutal sun and high humidity that is a Georgia summer day would quickly take its toll. The blast of heat just opening the door and I would be sweating before I could get my papers out of the back seat and lock the car!

It got to the point where I had to make sure that I arrived at a client’s office AT LEAST 30 minutes before my appointment.  I would head to their restroom where it would take several splashes of water and a handful of paper towels to get me back into presentable form.

It was not so much a case of embarrassment for me…it was mostly inconvenience but that certainly is not to say that I didn’t suffer occasional awkwardness, bordering on humiliation!

So began the search.  For the last two+ years, I have researched the ‘methods and madness’ for an effective solution to end the embarrassment caused from excessive sweating.  This website is based on my search efforts and experiences.

This is my story or I call it: “How to Searched for a Cure for Excessive Sweating Because Hyperhidrosis was Ruining My Life”

Just to get ready for the day ahead, I would have to get up very early in the morning to shower.  I had two fans in my bath room in order to remove the humidity and help cool me off. No matter how cool I could stand the water, I would get out and towel off as quickly as possible and RUN to get in front of a fan.  If I didn’t,  the shower simply ‘would not take’ as I like to say.  I’d begin sweating almost right away.

And not for a short period of time either.  It would take a minimum wait time of 30 minutes before I could even consider dressing.  Usually, I would just put on some short sweat pants (no pun intended) and a tee shirt.  Once my body temp regulated itself, I would proceed with the arsenal of antiperspirants, talcum powder and anti-sweating ‘good thoughts’.

Finally, when all was calm and confirmed, I’d get dressed.  This, of course, was not a cure on how to stop sweating…it was just a temporary solution to a bigger problem.

And all that just to leave the house for work.  I have a social life, you know…

I recall once that my friends called me up and had free tickets to go to Six Flags (over Georgia), an amusement park just east of downtown Atlanta.

I like Six Flags!  A lot! I love roller coasters.  All the other rides hold no interest for me.  The higher and faster, the better!

So, what was the FIRST ride I would line up for when I got there?

Scream Machine?

Nope.

Mind Bender?  Batman?  Scorcher?  Viper?  Ninja?Typical Locations for Excessive Sweating

Nope.

Everyone else would go darting off for one of the lines for those great rides…but not me.  Off to the Log Flume or Splash Mountain or Thunder River.

Now why would I, a lover of fast and furious coaster rides, would I do one of these lame-oh water rides when there are so many stud rides?

Betcha can guess…

I HAD to hit one of the water rides first.  I didn’t care which one – Log Flume, Thunder River… it didn’t matter which.

But it had to be a water ride.  Why?

Simple really…

If I went on a ‘wet’ ride first (and subsequently several more times during the day) and sat where I knew I would get soaked, then I didn’t have to worry about my profuse perspiration or questions about why I had soaking clothes.  Sad, but true.  (Smart too, don’t you think?)

Now, for the rest of the day, it would just look as if I had just gone ‘wet ride’.

No embarrassment…no questions.

Another example of my suffering  -  I love to play golf!  I don’t know why?  I am not very good.  I’m not bad but for someone like me, a round of 95 is just as fun as a round of 85…just not as memorable shots!

But I got to the point I couldn’t enjoy it anymore.

Even in the coolest seasons of autumn and spring, or in the sweltering heat of a Georgia mid-August afternoon, I always had to carry a small bag with a change of clothes (or two) to the course.

After playing the front-nine holes and prior to us making the turn to #10, I would have to excuse myself from the camaraderie and quickly make my way to the men’s room with the bag that contained a change of underwear, fresh shirt and the arsenal of antiperspirants and powders to ‘refresh’.  My golfing buddies always looked at me with a strange look when I did this.  (They never said anything and never asked – I don’t think they wanted to know what I was doing in there!)

When we would finish our round and while everyone else headed to the clubhouse for conciliation for the losers and listening to the bragging of the winners, I would always excuse myself and head home.  I couldn’t just sit there sweating profusely, no matter how cool it was in the clubhouse.

Once my sweating started out on the course, it didn’t just stop when I walked indoors.  And certainly no shower for me…they ‘never took’ in the locker room showers.

Why?

No Fans!  Remember – showers ‘don’t take’ for me – not at the golf course, not at the gym, not anywhere!

Why?  Because I had Hyperhidrosis – the excessive sweating syndrome!

Why couldn’t I just be like everyone else?

You would think that cool weather would bring relief and at least substitute for a permanent cure for excessive sweating…yeah, right!

Christmas Parties – Imagine everyone’s standing around next to a roaring fire.  Everybody engaged in conversation, enjoying the food and a cocktail or three enjoying each other’s company and in the holiday spirit.

Not me!  What – stand next to a fire?  On purpose?

Not only was I not in front of the fire, I was not to be found in the room!  More likely, I was in outside with the smokers…not because I smoke but because when I am outside in the cool air, I was away from that fire and would not sweat!

All this came to a head last summer!  My family was vacationing on the beaches along the Gulf Coast.  Beautiful.  Crystal clear blue water and white sandy beaches.  Couldn’t enjoy it…with no cure for excessive sweating, the problem had gotten so bad that I couldn’t even walk on the beach with my family without carrying a couple of towels with me.

Finally I said, “There HAS GOT to be a cure for excessive sweating. That’s it – I have HAD IT!”Excess Sweating is a Problem!

But it took some time for me to find what worked for me.  I started with a trip to my health professional and discussed the options.

Boy – There sure are a LOT of them to chose from:

  • Over-the-Counter Deodorants and Antiperspirants
  • Prescription Deodorants and Antiperspirants
  • Prescriptions, Pills and Oral Medications
  • Botox Injections (Yikes!!)
  • Surgery (Double Yikes!)
  • Natural and Organics including Folk Cures and “old Wives Tales, some that really work!

And something else I found out.  I was not alone…

The first thing I found out?  I was not the only person suffering from excess sweat and searching for a cure for excessive sweating. So I started to take notes from all the information.  How else could I make an informed decision without information.

Then someone told me that I should share what I had learned and start a ‘blog’.

Ok, sure…me write a blog.  Well, it was easier than I thought – its just a notebook that’s online (once you get past the narrow but definite learning curve!).  I figure if the information contained on this site helps just one other person find a treatment that will cure excessive sweating symptoms and end their fears, social embarrassment and suffering, I will consider my efforts well worth it.

I know what you’re thinking – ‘just point me to the cure that taught you how to stop sweating’!

Well, that might work so I have included several links on this page to what worked for me.  But not every sweating treatment is a cure for everyone.  There are so many options that I pursued, each with certain risks and side effects.  This website is here to help you by providing you with all the information I could find.  So take the time to look around the site.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with but one step…I hope you find the information provided to be helpful and gives you what you are searching for and find the best treatment for you and finally stop your excessive sweating once and for all.

All the best regards in your journey,

Randy Foley
