Stop Excessive Sweating: A Greater Peril for Women?
Excessive perspiration is no fun, no matter what your gender. But if you are a woman who is looking for a way to stop excessive sweating, you have probably noticed how prevalent its
effect can be.
No – I’m not just considering those rings of soaked material under your armpits or constant sweat appearing in your cleavage…or even your feet sticking to your pricey “Manolo Blahniks”.
Those are just the superficial results for sufferers of hyperhidrosis or excessive perspiration.
I’m talking about the effects of excessive sweating that can have more devastating effect on your relationships, career, and just about every social aspect of your life. As you probably already know, excessive perspiration will leave few areas of your life untouched!

Profuse, uncontrolled sweating can be a threat to you as a woman in a number of ways:
Motherhood
Children love their mothers unconditionally – but that doesn’t mean that your kids don’t become extremely uncomfortable, even grossed out by your excessive perspiration. Maybe it’s the feel of your clammy hands on their necks. Maybe it’s when you pick them up from school with shirt stained from armpit sweating for their friends and the whole world to see. Kids do not mean to be brutal but they are honest in most cases. It is likely that they don’t say anything directly to you; chances may be that your sweating problems gets discussed with their friends the second you are out of earshot. Maybe you’ve put off finding a cure for excessive perspiration but can you really condemn your kids for finding it repulsive?
Wife
It is probably very likely that your sex life isn’t what it used to be if you’ve been married for several years. Don’t worry…it is completely normal for a couple’s sex life to diminish over time. As someone said, “quality over quantity”
As a matter of fact, if you’re still having any sex at all, you should be proud. Any wife that who suffers from hyperhidrosis has probably been forced to become celibate some time ago!
Of course your sex life is not the most important part of a good marriage…but that doesn’t mean it’s unimportant either! It’s vitally important to your relationship that you and your husband make time for yourselves and maintain the sparkle in your relationship. And if there’s a list of things that will kill your husband’s sex drive, it’s the feel of a wet touch or the feel of sweat pouring from your face, armpit or feet every time he holds you in ‘that’ way.
Career
Don’t think that your hyperhidrosis is limited to just your personal relationships. Any social setting can be a problem for someone that suffers from uncontrollable perspiration problems.
Like at your office.
Or at the office of an important client.
Or in an important meeting.
Or at business conference.
Do not think your sweaty hands or underarm sweating won’t be noticed or adversely affect your career.
When most people become aware of your excessive sweating (armpit sweat stains, smelly stinky feet or constantly wet hands), they assume things about that person. Fair or not, people assume that profuse sweating is a direct result of poor personal hygiene. A problem that is bad enough gets worse. (Despite the fact that you are the most hygienic person you know!)
Maybe people assume you sweat profusely because you’re a nervous person because you’ve got something to hide? Or maybe they just suppose you’re physically unfit and lacking self-confidence. (That should work out well at the job interview!) I would venture to say that most bosses and clients aren’t keen to hire someone whose body odor makes them uncomfortable and whose damp handshake hardly makes them consider you a calm, cool, and collected professional. And even if you are hired, your excessive perspiration will cost you in passed over promotions and pay increases that never come.
Don’t let excessive sweating get the better of you. Don’t let it define who and what you are as a woman.
